Coleford, Gloucestershire  - 9th & 10th August 2026

Wallenstein Festival, Memmingen, Germany - 27th July to 2nd August 2026
Some of our members joined Sir Thomas Ballard's regiment as invited guests of Kanoniere Breuner (www.wallenstein-mm.de), to the Wallenstein Festival. In the build up there was Kinderfest and Fischertag, followed by the week long living history event. The festival starts and ends with a March through the town of all the groups that are taking part plus the horses pulling the Cannons, carts and wagons. There are also evening arena shows in each of the living history areas and a flags and drums march. On our area we had food prepared in the 17th century style with children invited to help pound the coffee beans. Visitors to our site also had the opportunity to see musket balls being made, leatherwork, needlework and games played. We also invite people to take a closer look at the armour, weapons and have their pictures taken with them wearing a back and breast plate and helmet, so that they can feel the weight of the items.

Langport, Somerset - 18th & 19th July 2026
Every year the Somerset Steam & Country show is a fantastic opportunity for local enthusiasts to gather and this year the Sealed Knot was invited to join alongside the other displays such as steam engines, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, fair organs, lawn mower racing and vintage trial bike competitions.
We produced a modest display of clothing, weapons and tactics within the area followed by a skirmish display pitting Royalist again Parliamentarians cheered on by the crowds. We also had a Living history display to engage with the public nestled amongst the military vehicles camp.

Bridgwater, Somerset - 27th June 2026
For Armed forces day, SMG James Carrs' Regiment joined Colonel James Wardlaw's regiment for an arena skirmish at Morganians RFC. We had an area showing different aspects of 17th century life and giving information on that period. Showing armour and clothing. Some visitors were brave enough to try on the armour in the extremely high temperatures!

Aylesford Hall, Colchester - 24th & 25th May 2026
A Major Muster where most of the regiment turned up, despite the heat, as it was a very hot weekend to be wearing wool! The two battles were supported by a living history area sharing information on the period.

Deene Park, Corby - 3rd & 4th May 2026
SMG James Carrs regiment joined with the rest of Sir William Waller's Brigade to host a Sealed Knot Major Muster. As hosts it means that we set up the site ready for the rest of The Sealed Knot in the beautiful grounds of Deene Park.

It had a large living history area with over 60 living history displays, of all aspects of life in the 17th century including food, woodturning, needlework.
As this was a Major Muster, it meant that we were also joined by the cavalry to protect out pike and musket during the battles.

Coleford March - 21st February 2026
An annual march with a service in the town. This year there was also musket fire and the people of Coleford were invited to watch the event in August.
